I want to offer/show Free Shipping when customers checkout however, I would like to have shipping charges adding in the background for products. Is this possible?
Just to confirm if we’re on the same page, you want to have a free shipping method, but at the same time add a surcharge to the product prices, which will act as a shipping fee, correct?
You might be able to accomplish this using the Extra Fees for WooCommerce extension. According to the documentation, you can add the fees at the product level.
