• Hello everyone,

I have installed the Loginizer plugin for my WordPress site, and I have noticed many failed login attempts (which I know is normal). What surprises me is that the bots know my admin username. I always post from a user with less privileges, and I have installed the Disable REST API plugin, so I can’t think of how the bots found this out.

Any help on how to prevent anyone else (including bots) from knowing my admin username is appreciated!

    Thanks.

Without seeing your site, I can’t say, but bots are pretty good at making guesses at likely user names. It really doesn’t matter, as long as you block repeated attempts (via a security plugin) and use a strong password.
