I guess the title of topic says it all. I’m wondering if there is a way to hide the archived posts from even logged in users when they are in “Visit Site” mode. Since I’m almost always in “logged in” mode as an “admin” user, I’m finding it distracting that I can see the archived content on the site. Additionally, I’m not the only admin and have a concern about having to explain to to others who may be logged in why they are seeing old content.

Can you explain why you think it is confusing, I ask as if you have set to only logged in users can see archived posts and also set an archive label and message logged in users should not be too confused

You are aware of these settings right?

Thanks for replying. Yes I’m aware of them. The issue is that the messaging about the time being archived does not show in the widget that the post shows in. The widget doesn’t appear to be concerned with the posts “status” either, so it’s appearing to logged in users as any post of published status would.

what widget are you referring too?

LH Archived Post Status does not come with a built in widget, so it must be a widget from another plugin..

My plugin is ery standards compliant (unlike some others, in that it changes the post status

As such maybe you should use another plugin that enables widget that respects post status, or alternative raise a support request for that plugin..

Closing this thread for good order, as it would appear to be an issue with another plugin. Note I wil still monitor thsi thread

    Hi Pete,
I’d also like to have the option that archived posts aren’t visible for logged-in users as well. For some reason, I’m not seeing the archive title label and message, but even if they did work, I don’t think that would be sufficient. My logged-in users will still be confused.

The logged in only option is similar as making them private so only people with editorial access would see them (or not regular subscribers).

Restricting this further would cause problems then no one able to view the posts or change their status.

However as I said above I doubt this is a problem as on a normal install thus will only be editors and admins.
