Hide average rating until someone votes

not at the moment – you can hide average rating in the options but this will also hide vote counter. Alternatively you can use “Vote count: {{votecount}}” in the customize section (Custom results text:). This way the vote count will be shown but not the average rating. However, there is no option that the average rating would be shown only after the user votes.

I’ll put this on to do list for future version.

I noticed that the text with the id ‘no-vote’ still appears even after average rating text is disabled. I think it makes more sense to hide the text as well since that’s the expected behaviour.
