• Hi,

I’ve finally got my installation working and will now focus on importing my old blog which was based on an old hack. There is no way to import th blog by a using a batch process and will take a few days.

Is there a way to hide my blog during the development phase? I don’t like the idea that my readers would find my blog during construction.

    /K

  • jsut install it in a subdirectory like example.com/testingblog/ and then no one will know about it.

OK, but then I need to move all files and change in the config-file, doesn’t I? Doesn’t that means trouble?

    /K

There is nothing to change in the config file, only in the admin panel go to Settings>General and change WordPress address (URL) and Blog address (URL) to the new location.

But be careful when doing that because if you change it there and don’t move your blog to the new location you inserted, the only way to change it back is through PHPmyadmin or something like that.

OK, the steps are the following!?

    * Change WordPress address (URL) and Blog address (URL) in the admin panel.

    * Move all files to the new library

    – that’s it? No DB change or other settings?

    /K

    That’s correct.
