I am not sure why this doesn’t implement as standard, it works fine with regular posts. But I cannot restrict a custom post in the same manner as I would with ordinary posts.

On the post editor page, I usually just tick the role that is allowed to view the content. But with custom posts, this doesn’t work.

Anyone can view the post and the content.

How do I get the membership plugin to work with custom posts as it does with regular posts and pages?

    Hello @rcwgsy

This is a question for the membership plugin you are using. That plugin will need to support custom post types otherwise it won’t work.

Members by Memberspress. I was under the impression you work with this plugin?

    Hello @rcwgsy

We are familiar with Members, though this plugin should work with custom post types without issues.
And even so, Pods merely creates the custom post type.

I just checked my local installation and Members works fine on custom post types created with Pods.
Keep in mind that Members only works for public custom post types.

Thanks, yeah, I see it recognises PODs, it just doesn’t seem to be restricting by user role as normal posts/pages does.

    My custom posts are public.

    Hello @rcwgsy

Then please file a bug report at Members. This is their functionality and thus out of scope for Pods support.

    Hi @rcwgsy

I don’t see any topic created by you on their support forum: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/members/

In any case I’m sorry, but since Members is not our plugin I cannot help you.

    Cheers, Jory

Wow. Are you always this clingy?

Do you want to double-check that I even have a WordPress site too?

Or if my mother’s name is really Sue?

Their support is run through their site.

    Hi @rcwgsy

    No offence intended.
I was just looking for the topic since if the plugin author responded it might have given me more insight in the issue.

Normally, for a www.ads-software.com hosted plugin, the author also uses the support forum provided by www.ads-software.com.
Members wasn’t owned by Memberpress until recently.

In any case, I hope they will respond quickly so you can fix the issue and continue with your project.

    Cheers, Jory
