    Hi,

I have a problem I’m trying to solve and your plugin may be the answer.

BuddyPress displays a user’s nicename by default as @nicename on a member’s profile page. This is initially the same as the user’s login username, which is a security leak.

I manually change nicenames to a sequential ID number instead, hiding the username.

Therefore, when a new user registers, their login username is initially visible to everyone.

This could be circumvented if the default setting for “Hide from directory” was Yes instead of No.

Is there a way to change this setting? I had a look in the database, but could not see where this is set. Maybe a filter in the child functions.php file?

    Thanks in advance,
    Graham

I’m sorry that I didn’t see this sooner. I plan on making an update to the plugin that gives the super admin access to setup the default settings for each user. Look for that in a future release.

Thank you for using the plugin.
