Hide icon in sub menu in FSE

Hello, i have added Font Awesome icons following the suggestions of this thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/add-icon-as-menu-item-in-fse/

All works well but if having a sub menu the icon is repeated in sub menu and im not able to set the display none while keeping the visibility of the icon in the parent menu, is that possible?
