Earlier today, I installed the Hide Login plugin, and at first, I had access to my login page. Hours later, I’m unable to access it, regardless of which address I try.

I didn’t have much to lose yet, so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling wordpress—several times—and the issue persisted.

I tried the suggestions on a prior discussion (link below), and I was unable to solve it. I did find a .htaccess file through a search option, but it was not listed in the folder contents.

    Can anyone help? Thanks!

if the problem occurred hours later, so maybe a new plugin installation made it possible ?!
.htaccess file located in public_html/.htaccess ( i recommend using ftp to edit it )
and the rules of hide login is set there, you can delete them whenever you want, or just disable the plugin from HIDE-LOGIN’S SETTING PAGE ??

Yeah I can’t get this to work either. I set a custom page, and nothing is ever found (404 error). The blockage seems to completely block me out. Fixing it is easy obviously, I just delete the relevant bits in my .htaccess file.

I’ve found the .htaccess file through my FTP client, but how do I go about editing it? It sounds like it should be easy enough to fix, but I hardly understand what I’m doing here. Please bear with me.

Edit: Since I found no means of editing the file, I deleted it and created a new one using some other support posts for reference. Everything’s fine for me now! Probably wasn’t the best way to fix this, but I’m running a clean install so hopefully everything is ok. And thanks for the replies!

    Hello,

I have just installed this plugin, I set it up to hide my login page and I created a custom slug for my new login page. The I tested it and it did actually hide my defalult https://www.site.com/wp-login

But when I try to log into my website from the slug I created I get a “No Results Found” error message. Can somebody tell me why is this happening? Is there anybody who was able to use this plugin successfully?

Then I uninstalled the plugin and I removed it and the problem still persists!!! I’m desperate, I lost access to my site ??

I read here that the solution to this is to modify my .htaccess file but I need to know what I need to delete or change in the .htaccess file

Can somebody help me with this?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

The same happened to me, the wp-admin disappeared but the slug didn’t work either.
I saw in a previous post that we could edit .htaccess file, so I did, and it works! THANKS A LOT!

    1. Through FTP, go to ‘public_html’ folder
    2. Download ‘.htaccess’ file
    3. Open it in notepad
    4. Delete all that block after # END WordPress
    5. Access your default Admin page again (hopefuly)

    Good luck

i entered the slug field to wp-admin.. i cant access my admin page anymore,
and i cant find .htaccess anywhere -_-

    here’s the error said :
This webpage has a redirect loop
The webpage at https://mywebsite/wp-admin/?hide_admin_key=ZEE0 has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

pls tell me what to do -_-

ps: i already tried to find .htaccess both from ftp and cpanel, i know i’ve seen it before.

ok i just found it, it was hidden (transparent file name mode) why does that happened? wish me luck

    thx for this information ??
