‘Hide Login’ values swapping between sites

    I have 17 WordPress sites running on my Linode VPS, all set up with Easy Engine. I have gone through each one to confirm the proper location of the nginx conf file (/var/www/domain.com/conf/nginx/nginx.conf).

    About once every three weeks, the ‘hide admin’ value will swap between sites. So whereas one site’s secret login was ‘site1hidden’, it switches to ‘site2hidden’, and site 2 gets ‘site1hidden’ as its hidden admin value.

    What would cause these values to swap between sites on the same server? I don’t understand the way the plugin works to determine this. The plugin wants to be able to write to the nginx.conf file (644), but the security check says the conf file should be 444 permissions.

    Any idea why these values are swapping?
