I’m using MaxButtons in my flyout menu (created with Responsive Menu plugin) and would like to hide them on desktop so they are visible only on tablet and mobile. Having trouble figuring this out and wondering if anyone can advise? Thanks

    Hi,

That’s quite simple. You can create a new responsive screen, with the ADD+ button in the button editor.

On the top (screen settings) you can set the min. size from when to hide the button and leave the max. size at zero.

The last option is ‘hide button in this screen’ which should be active.

    Hi,

Thanks so much for the response! I had not yet tried that; however, I’ve followed these steps and it’s still not working. Since I want the buttons visible only on mobile and tablet, I have the min width set to 0 and max set to 768 (I also tried flipping that and got no results). I’ve made sure the “hide this button on this screen” option is turned on. I’ve saved it, emptied the cache on both the site and browser to no avail. Anything else you can suggest?

    Thanks

You probably want to do it the other way around. Between 768 and 0 (on maximum, for no limit) and then set it to hide. This way it *hides* when the rule is active.

Also check what the screen resolution of your mobile device is, it might be bigger.

I’ve tried that and it’s still not working. I also created a new page and a new button to test things on and no luck. This is the test page and button. https://myglow365.com/test/

I have this set at min width 1080 / max 0. “Hide button” option is activated.

Let me know if there’s anything else you recommend…

    Thanks

    Hi,

This button indeed has no responsive styles as far as I can see on the output.

How does it look in the button editor? I suppose you add the numbers and then hit the button ‘ Save and Add New Screen ‘ below on that screen? After that it shoudl show two tabs, one for the main display of the button, the other for the responsive screen.

Also the page has something called ‘global-cached-inline-style ‘ from the divi theme. When testing maybe try to turn this off as it might influence what the output is.

    Hi again,

Correct, when in the button editor, I see two tabs, “Main” and the other that I created for the screen, named “test”, and it reads “>1080px”.

In Divi, there is an option to turn on site-wide “Static CSS File Generation”, but I am not using it. It is turned off and was never on to begin with. At the page level, that setting was on by default. I’ve turned it off, purged caches on the site and browser, but am seeing no difference.

Let me know if there’s anything else you recommend trying. I appreciate your time helping to troubleshoot.

    Thanks

It sounds like you are doing all the steps correctly.

Does anything change if you add this to the shortcode:

    [maxbutton id=x style=”inline”]

    or

    [maxbutton id=x style=”inline” nocache=”true”]

(Where the X is your button id)

If that still doesn’t work, please contact us directly: https://maxbuttons.com/contact/
