• I wanted to contribute a fix to make this work with Hide My WP Plugin.

Open the zip file using file explorer (NOT WINRAR)

    Copy to local antispam_bee.php

    modify the wp-comments-post.php

Change it to what you currently have “comments “Custom comment Path:” set

    I have something like “x89yh8g1273g48yhj”

There are 2 places you need to modify line 1185 and 1140.

This is for the version 2.11.6 of Antispam Bee.

    Delete the original antispam-bee.2.11.6\antispam-bee\antispam_bee.php

Put your modified antispam_bee.php in that directory.

No more “Error:?Please type your comment text.”

I hope this helps someone out there:)

    Hi @dima202

this is a (sorry!) terrible advice and nobody should follow this! Although I would like to thank you for the will to help others to make these two plugins compatible.

Every update of the plugin will overwrite your modification, so you are either stuck on this version or you need to modify the plugin after every release. Both are not optimal.

Maybe we could add a filter for this case or find another solution to this problem. Feel free to open an issue on our GitHub repo:
    https://github.com/pluginkollektiv/antispam-bee

Modifying plugin code should be the last solution if there is really no other better way … but we are here and still support and develop this plugin, so let’s try a better way to make these plugins compatible!

    All the best

I did as you suggested and created a github Issue.

You are right, I disabled updates for this plugin because right now I have to manually mod it.

This plugin is perfect if used correctly!

This is handled on GitHub now and there is already a patch available:
    https://github.com/pluginkollektiv/antispam-bee/issues/585

Therefore I mark it as resolved here.

Thanks for reporting and opening the issue on GitHub!

    All the best
    Torsten
