Hide page title to reduce spacing

Hi, i use the manila theme and created a slider for the first page. How can i remove the title of the page to reduce the space between the menu and the slider like in the demo? I tried to do it with adding “.page .entry-title {display: none;}” to the CSS but this just hides the title, the space is still there.
