I created a map a few months ago where I add custom markers. It runs on Google Maps engine. I remember I had deactivated POIs in order to have the cleanest map possible and my custom markers would be easy to find on the map.
Somehow (probably after some update ?) POIs are back on the map and I can’t figure out how to hide them.

My map is on a private page so I don’t know how to share it with you for investigation, can you please advise a way around to help me with this ?
    Thanks,
    Aline

Nevermind : I found a way around it. But this piece of information could be useful the WP go maps team :

    • looks like the issue was in the Marker Render Mode = Advanced marker mode
    • when in advanced mode, a few options don’t seem to work properly (at least for me) such as changing the map theme, or enabling ‘hide pois” or trying to custom display some stuff with the map theme options.
    • Maybe some indication that these features work properly only work in default mode would be useful ??

    Cheers,

    Hey @alinasev,

Thank you for getting in touch and sharing that information with us, we do appreciate it! Yes the new rendering mode, although slightly faster, does introduce some limitation that we have not made as clear as we could have.

We were hoping to write a blog post explaining some of these limitations, but I agree with you that we should also highlight the key limitations right in the marker rendering mode section. I’ve made a note to add this in our next round of updates.

It’s still experimental and for the time being we do still recommend most users make use of the default render mode, at least until we can better handle some of those limitations.

Thanks again for sharing your experience with the community, I’m sure that will be helpful to someone else, with a similar setup!
