Hide Related Posts images from Pinterest

    Hi! I’m using the Related Posts function in Jetpack and am loving it, but I have one small problem: the thumbnails cause a flurry of tiny, unrelated images to be suggested whenever a users shares a post to Pinterest.

    Is there any way that I can add data-pin-nopin="true" to these images automatically?

    Hi –

    Could you share a link to one or two posts where this is happening.

    If those posts don’t have a set featured image then it is trying to pull from galleries and other images in the post which could be the issue you’re having.

    Hi Liz,

    thanks for your quick response! This happens on every post on my site – in itself, the fact that multiple images are suggested is the intended effect; I’d just like for the Related Posts thumbnails to not be among them.

    Pinterest allows sites to add the data-pin-nopin="true"attribute to any images meant to be excluded from the suggested images, and I’m looking for a way to automatically add that attribute to the Related Posts thumbnails.

    We don’t really have a way to inject that via a filter, but you might want to recommend it as an Enhacement at https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/
