I am new with woocommerce and I still am setting it up. When I create a menu I automatically get the shopping cart icon. I like to disable this but don’t know how to do that? Is there a way to hide it for now because custommers are not allowed yet to go to the online store.

  • First use a plugin called Coming Soon Page & Maintenance Mode by SeedProd and enable that with a custom image. That way nobody but admins can see what’s going on.

Second make sure that in MENUS that you have the box for adding menu or items automatically unchecked and then create menus however you like.

    Hi stefsterNYC,

Thank you for replying. The meaning is not to enable a Coming Soon & Maintenance page because I also offer services.

What you mean with ‘adding menu or items automatically unchecked’? I go to:
    Appearance > Menu’s > ?

Thank you for helping me out!

I said that so that you would or could hide any new work from customers/users while you work out the kinks.

Please make sure that this box is unchecked inside Menu Settings.

    Hi,
Thanks for your swift reply. The box was already unchecked.
I still couldn’t solve this issue.
The icon only shows when I choose to desplay the menu in ‘Main’.

you can add a class to any menu tab you don’t want users to see and then css it to display:none; make sense?

you first need to enable css and link in a menu item and that is done in screen options in the menu section check the box css class and then open the menu tab in menus and give it a custom selector name. Then go to CSS file and hide it.

    Hope that makes sense.
