Hide Specific Child Categories from Main Category Display

Hi all,

I hope someone can assist, I am looking to modify the category page which displays products to exclude certain child category products from appearing.

As an example if I had a Clothing category, I would want all sub categories to be displayed but maybe not the Accessories sub category.

I have researched online and found a few solution, however these end up excluding all child categories. I would like to allow child category products to display, but exclude certain ones.

Hope this makes sense, grateful for any advice at all.
