Hide steps label outside of configurator?

Hi.

My product configuration uses “steps” to allow the customer to choose their options one at a time. This works great, however, I was just wondering if it would be possible to have an option which will hide these step labels on other pages. For example, the label of each step appears on the cart, checkout, success, and view order pages and also on the emails to the admin & customer.

I would love to see this feature implemented as each configurable product I have created has around 6 steps labelled as “Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, …”. This is useful in the config view but not elsewhere.
