• On my homepage I have a ‘Latest blog post’ section showing excerpts from my most recent posts.
My posts feature text in bracksts [] because of a plugin I have.

I don’t want this text to show in the excerpt on the homepage as it doesn’t really make any sense to the viewer.

You can see an example of this at my site mrbluelips.com. The text I want to hide is “Podcast: Play in new window | Embed” as shown.

    Thanks ??

  • I don’t see any text in brackets on your home page.

Are you sure it’s not something that only appears when you are logged in to your dashboard.

Try accessing your page from another browser… where you are not logged in.

It’s the text in the excerpts under ‘latest mixes’
The text I want hiding is:

“Podcast: Play in new window | Embed”.

Ohhh… gotcha. I didn’t see brackets.. so it didn’t “pop” out to me.

    Okay.. one sec.

Okay… there is no way to accomplish it with CSS… since that entire text area is wrapped in a single <p> tag.

Is it your theme generating this “preview text excerpt”… or is it a plugin adding this entire text area?

Thanks fr your help so far ??

It’s my theme that’s generating the text area. I get to choose how many posts I want to show on my home page if that makes sense.
The text I want to hide is part of a plugin audio player that shows only when you go to the post page.

Okay. What is that plugin? I’ll have to download it and see how they are generating that text.
