To remove categories from the breadcrumb trails of posts:

    1. Go to the Breadcrumb NavXT settings page
    2. Click on the “Post Types” tab
    3. Under the “Post” subsection, uncheck the box next to “Show the hierarchy (specified below) leading to a post in the breadcrumb trail.”
    4. Press the “Save Changes” button on the bottom of the page

Otherwise, if you want to like to something else on the category breadcrumbs (e.g. a page), this guide may help: https://mtekk.us/archives/guides/link-to-a-page-rather-than-the-category-archive-in-a-breadcrumb/

What version of Breadcrumb NavXT are you using? If it’s an older version there may be a bug causing this that has been fixed in newer versions.

If the category was still displayed, after unchecking the “Show the hierarchy (specified below) leading to a post in the breadcrumb trail.” option and saving, then the most likely explanations are:

    • Your post is of some other post type.
    • You’re manually instantiating the bcn_breadcrumb_trail class and not loading the settings.
    • Your page is being cached, and the cache isn’t updating after the settings were changed.
    • The breadcrumb trail you’re talking about isn’t being generated by Breadcrumb NavXT.
