• Here’s the dilemma I’m having:

I used to use the Audio Player plugin to play mp3s on my site. The great part was that it encoded the files being played. So, if you looked at the source for a page, neither the mp3 URL nor its file showed up. But, the plugin uses Flash, so it wouldn’t work on iPads/iPhones.

I switched to WordPress’ default media player. The great part is that it uses HTML5 and works on Pads/iPhones. What’s not great is that anyone who looks at the source of the page can see the mp3 URL and filenames.

Is there a way to use WP’s default player–but encode/encrypt/hide the mp3 file information so that it doesn’t show up in the source?

    Thanks.

Did you ever get an answer to this?
I am trying to figure out if I should use the default WP player and store the mp3s in the library or if they should be stored in another folder on server. Also having but “encode/encrypt/hide the mp3 file information so that it doesn’t show up in the source” would be great.

I didn’t have any luck on this front. Perhaps you’ll fare better.

    Take care.
