Hide user profile fields for specific roles

Hi,
is there a way to hide most of the fields in the user profile but only for profiles belonging to a specific role? What I mean is that the admin should see all the fields on the admin role profile, but a custom role should be stripped of almost all default fields leaving only some custom ones (for the same admin – as the custom role does not have access to the dashboard anyway).
