This is a pretty good idea! I’ll think about it for a little bit, but will then probably add it.

Out of curiosity, what’s your use case? Just removing things from mobile to trim the site down? Removing a widget that doesn’t function on mobile? something else?

The idea is to trim the site down, making it faster on mobile devices.

For example on my responsive website the widgets on mobile devices will be shown at the very end of the page, after all content. It’s most unlikely that people will reach all the way down.

So the idea is to hide certain widgets I don’t feel necessary to show on mobile devices. But hiding itself is actually the wrong word, as technically it’s better to not load them at all. Hiding with css will still load them and would not have any big effects in terms of site speed.

Just wanted to let you know that I still plan to incorporate this change. 2.1 was more of a maintenance release – and I expect Hide on Mobile to be available in the next release.

Aaaaaand check out Version 2.2 and let me know what you think
