I would like to prevent non-administrator roles from accessing Popup Maker controls. Is this possible and if so, how can it be achieved?

I saw this thread that shows how to hide the menu link to Popup Maker…

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/show-popupmaker-in-dashboard-only-for-admin/

This works well for hiding the link but it doesn’t prevent users from accessing Popup Maker controls if they know the proper url.

For example, non-admins can still access the following url where the list of popups is shown.

    domainname.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=popup

They can still access pages for editing popups as well if they know the url. I would like to make it so that all Popup Maker pages are inaccessible for non-administrators not just hide the menu item.

Please let me know if this is possible.

    Thank you.

    Hi @gar1,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Since our popups are considered custom post types, perhaps you can consider using a third-party plugin like Advanced Access Manager that can restrict certain user roles from editing posts.

With Advanced Access Manager, you can try the following settings:
    1. Backend Menu > Popup Maker > Restrict Menu – This will remove Popup Maker on the back end main menu.
    2. Capabilities > Posts & Pages > Uncheck “edit_posts” – This will restrict access to domainname.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=popup

Let us know if this works for you.

    Hi there,

I’m going to mark this as resolved as we haven’t heard from you in a while.

Feel free to create a new thread if you have other questions.

    Thanks!
