Hiding published pages
-
I am using the WordPress theme Twenty Fourteen. I have a number of pages on my site which I only wish to make accessible via hyperlinks from other pages on my site. If I choose to publish a page, the title of this page appears on all of my site pages. Having many titles scattered about is extremely untidy. In order to address this problem in the short-term, I included all hyperlinked pages under a common parent page. The above theme manages my parent pages by presenting them on each page of the site as a drop down menu. I therefore now have the appearance of a drop-down menu containing as items the titles of all the hyperlinked pages on my site. This solution to eliminating the titles of hyperlinked pages is sub-optimal. I would prefer that the titles of published pages did not automatically appear on my site pages. Deleting the above drop-down menu from the list of menu items under ‘Menus’ in the Appearance section of my dashboard makes no difference. The parent pages are still published in appearance as drop-down menus. How can I hide the titles of my published hyperlinked pages more effectively? Any ideas?
