Hiding Subpages

Couple questions.

1. How do I automatically (not edit manually each time one is created) hide subpages for one specific parent page? Just one, not all parents.

2. How do I hide a specific depth in the rest of the parents, but have the hidden subpages appear when that parent is clicked on and viewed?
