High CPU and Entry Processes ?

  • Hello.

    I run my blog on wordpress and few days ago my site started showing Resources limited error and server unavailable error.

    CPU is 80-90% although I have only 1-2 people online on blog all the time.

    I contacted my hosting support and they told me that millions of people are trying to reach myblog.com/wp-content/plugins/social-media-feather/synved-social/imag

    I installed Social Media Feather plugin few days ago and when I got this problem I deleted all plugins and themes and I don’t have these files on my server.

    My host support told me that they can see 10-15 visitors per secont trying to GET that location, and I can’t see these visitors on my site.

    How can I stop this, it’s torture.

  • Someone has targeted your site with some kind of bruteforce attack, the host should detect this and block their IP addresses. It really has nothing in particular to do with the plugin, they’re just trying to access some static files.

    Did you find the solution for the same.
    I faced resource issue all of a sudden on my website. I checked things but couldn’t understand the reason. I impromptly changed my .htaccess file name and also changed wp-config file … The site is down now. But still I see some entry processes ?
    I seriously think my website is compromised. Looking for solutions. Please help if anyone can.
