• My provider tells me that the Packlink PRO plugin consumes a lot of resources, exceeding the CPU share of my hosting plan. The same problem that came up months ago. Evidently the solution didn’t really solve the problem.

It’s a serious problem because upgrades are costing us a lot of money. Please solve quickly.

  • We have the same problem.

packling-pro-shipping plugin is still logging requests through packlink_pro_controller every 6 seconds

    Has anyone found a solution?

The same for my customer site. I Had to deactivate the Plugin because the CPU Usage it’s more then their hosting plan support…

We have the same problem in my web. I too deactivate the plugin

Has anyone found a temporary solution?

Not yet. I’ve deactivated the plugin

I leave the plugin deactivated. I only reactivate it when I have to make shipments. Then I turn it off again.

    It’s a waste of time, I don’t understand why they don’t solve the problem definitively… ??

    Hello,

we’ve the same problem with Packlink … there is some news about some solution?

Sincerely we’re enough satisfied for how works it the plugin and the connection with our site on platform Prestashop.

In my opinion is NECESSARY to FLOOD packlink contacts with loud complaints!

@crismasferrer : Absolutely correct!…the problem stay in the extremely frequent request that Packlink plugin make!

they told me that they know the problem for the woocommerce platform and that they have inserted a command in the module interface that deactivates this activity… but I don’t know how it all works…
Does anyone know more?…can you let us know?

I think it doesn’t work, the plugin continues to consume a lot of resources and they haven’t updated it for a long time. And unfortunately they don’t even respond to bug reports.

I just finished writing three emails to these gentlemen!
Regarding the update, I don’t have the same experience… I received an update about 3 months ago.

I repeat, my packlink sales representative has always paid attention to me and has tried in every way to report the problem we are talking about to the “external” company that deals with the plugin.

Below I report the response that my contact person received from these developers, who dare to claim that the problem of CPU consumption may not depend on their plugin…
But somehow, there was some communication.

The point is that I am happy with the integration in the “free” version and I wouldn’t want to change to some other platform where the costs would be high!

This is what the developers said about the problem:

    “…

    Hello ,

Our team has looked into the reported issue:

    High CPU usage issue

We were not able to reproduce the issue with high CPU usage locally and we would like to ask the merchant to provide us with the following details:

    • How did the merchant notice that the CPU usage is high?
    • Is the merchant sure that the Packlink PRO module is the cause of this performance issue?

It would be useful if the merchant could provide us with some of the metrics from their server, so we would be able to analyze them.

Packlink PRO plugin performs most of its work in the background. To be able to detect and start background sync, the Packlink plugin simulates the long-running (background) process by asynchronously invoking background worker web requests with a minimum of 5s delay between two successive invocations.
If the merchant is experiencing an issue with high CPU usage because of these requests that are being executed every 5 seconds, we can increase this time.

I have a lot of doubts that this is a smart way to make the plugin work. There is no need to stress a server every 5 seconds, uninterruptedly, for a trivial data transmission.

Those who created the plugin do not know how to do their job. What a trouble for us users! They will never be able to solve the problem, their approach is completely wrong.

I can quite agree with you… I don’t know exactly how things go because I know almost nothing about IT.

Instead yesterday I sent at least 3-4 emails and communicated in their chat that this problem needed to be solved, that it is very serious and that they are losing face and customers, just look at how many negative feedbacks there are online… .
Well, I just received a phone call from my sales representative who has read the emails and who will immediately ask their technicians to increase that frequency number from 5 seconds to much, much more!
I don’t know if this will have a positive effect and if there won’t be bad consequences for the general functioning of the synchronization packlink <> my site;…but we can say that something is being done, in some way I managed to stir things up!

It is certainly not a “correct” solution and above all a solution to the plugin problem, it is not a real updating to a new version that will definitively solve the problem but, at the very least, it is an attempt of good will and to see how things go.

Yuo said also: “I leave the plugin deactivated. I only reactivate it when I have to make shipments. Then I turn it off again.”

this morning I also did this test but I thought that in my cart I wouldn’t have the service offered by their couriers… but NO!!
The courier service continues to be there and at the correct prices, as I did the counter-test by going to the packlink platform and trying to make the same type of shipment and see if I had the same costs… and the answer is YES!

    how is this possible??

Has anyone found a solution for the high CPU usage? Have you tried looking for a previous update?

    Thread Starter E-text S.r.l.

    (@etextsrl)

There are no solutions, unfortunately you have to leave the plugin deactivated and then activate it every time, just for the time necessary. Unfortunately, the plugin authors are not responding and do not seem willing to solve the problem.

    Hi,

We are having the same issue.
