I just used malcure to scan my site which it did very well. After removing the plugin, my site became very slow as the mysql process eats up almost all CPU capacity (constantly close to 100%). Is there anything known about issues with removing this plugin? Anything that could cause this extremely high processor drain? Any manual action I can perform to check whether this plugin left residues I need to clean up?

    Thank you!

Thank you for using our plugin. I was able to visit that page without any issue. It’s highly unlikely that any plugin would cause any issues after removal unless it’s modified some files which still try to run piece(s) or code.

We did try to test your URL on Gtmetrix and found a TTFB of around 5 seconds which is slightly higher but not unusual.

Thank you for replying so quickly! Yes, my impression is that it indeed modified some files which run heavy database queries… any idea how I could figure out which code exactly triggers these long queries?

May I ask, what you mean by “slightly higher”? Before the plugin deactivation our TTFB was around a second which I believe is even above average response times or desired response time for any website to load or am I wrong?

Any kind of a firewall will add to the TTFB of the website. You can deactivate the firewall features to address this issue.
