highlight a category on menu

I am trying to do the same thing for all of my navigation link. See my posts about keeping currently active menus highlighted. Nobobdy has replied and I have search previous posts, it seems quite difficult to do. See this link in the codex :

My problem is that I want to do this with Categories and not with Pages.

With Pages is quite simple. When wp_list_pages is called while displaying a Page, the list item for that Page will be given the additional CSS class “current_page_item”. ( https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Template_Tags/wp_list_pages )

This “feature” simple doesn’t exist in wp_list_cats()
