Highly upset

  • I was browsing poetry sites and came across “freepoem.net” a site spponsored by this one [wordpress] and I was extremely FURIATED to find MINE and others COPYRIGHTED work on this website, with no knowledge of my own or theirs as to how it got there. This is the only way I could find too contact the people who run the website. I am highly upset and I want my work taken off of this site immediately, it is ILLEGAL. I can be contacted at [email address moderated] if there are any issues removing it.

  • You might want to consider contacting the hosting company about that issue. If that is a wordpress.COM blog then you might visit https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ to register your complaint.

    The site appears to have been taken down; still, you should be aware that “powered by WordPress” is not even close to meaning “sponsored by WordPress”.

    @shiva is correct. Anyone can use the free WordPress software to power any type of site under the terms of the GPL. Complaints of content piracy, copyright infringement or libel need to be addressed to the site owner and/or the hosting company, as the WordPress open source project has no direct connection with individual site owners.
