    Hi,

So far Car Demon works great – I’ve had to do some customizing, using your filters, to make it work properly with my theme, but until now I haven’t had any real issues.

The website I’m developing has another Custom Post Type – Services. The client lists the services they offer, such as exhaust work, inspections, etc. The issue is that, when I use the built in templates, Car Demon seems to be hijacking the output. When I go to view a single Service, I get the Cars for Sale archive page, instead of the layout I’ve indicated in the archive-auto_services.php

If I turn off the “Use Include Theme Files” option, the Services show as they’re supposed to. I suppose I can build my own archive-cars_for_sale.php and single-cars_for_sale.php, but then I have issue with the Search feature…

    Any way to fix this?

    Hi kyrieelayne,

CarDemon uses a template redirect to supply the template files. It checks for a post_type of ‘cars_for_sale’ and it also does a check for the different taxonomies (like vehicle_condition, vehicle_year, etc).

Off the top of my head I can’t think of a reason why it would hijack the results for another post_type. We often use other post_types for our own sites for similar reasons and this is the first time this issue has been reported that we’re aware of.

We’d like to help you resolve the problem. To determine the issue we’re going to need to take a closer look at your site. If you would kindly visit CarDemons.com and fill out the contact form on our About page we’ll discuss setting up a login to your site so we can look at this directly.

Once we resolve this issue we can report back here so everyone else knows how to resolve this if they have a similar problem.

    thanks,
    -j
