Hint showing? / Current language link?

  • Hi!
    Before I report something not working I would like to know what the effect should be of options
    Available translations hint
    Current language link
    I have both options switched on but nothing seems to happen?
    I have a multi site with NL and EN. Posts can be combined OK. The widget I use on the display gives me the correct link to the post in the other language on the other site.

    So what should I see for that hint and link?
    Is there some example available?
