Hit by spammer right out of gate, now odd problems

    I’m really not sure what has occured. I’d just set up WP, got Kubrick on board when I got hit with a mass of spam from an online gambling outfit — posts filled with philosophy, concluded with a link to their site. I was putting up some of the spam prevention plug-ins but had gotten sidetracked on another project.
    I deleted all the comment spam and installed the Blacklist from Fahim. I had Kitten’s stuff and a blacklist normally but it didn’t seem to stop these guys.
    Now I have two errors and I’m contemplating reinstalling it all over again :-S
    First, I can’t post. I have this error report:
    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_grins() in /usr/home282/m/i/misstwal/public_html/wp/wp-admin/quicktags.php on line 3
    Second, my categories list has flipped its lid. There are now zero posts, so I’m guessing there’d be no categories. But I have this error:
    Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /usr/home282/m/i/misstwal/public_html/wp/wp-includes/template-functions-category.php on line 304
    I’m a real novice on PHP. That’s why contemplating the reinstall and prompt install of spam plugins. But if anyone can help me figure out what is up and how to fix these errors, I’d be quite grateful.

    Back again with another curious discovery. I’m not sure how, but all the active plugins were deactivated. Would putting Kubrick up there and changing the index have caused this? [I wouldn’t think so]
    It explains why spam was getting through. Is it possible someone could access and toggle my plugs from outside?
    After reactiving the emoticon plugin, I can now post, so problem #1 is no longer a problem. I’m just concerned about how it was changed.
    Also, after putting up one post, the category error is gone. I’m guessing that having no entries caused this error. Is that normal. I’d expect the code to allow for zero entries.
    Still exploring to see if any other changes after attack.
