• I am new (very new !) to WordPress and am making slow progress apart from one basic issue. If I layout a page in Edit to my liking – (the usual mix of photos, captions and text) when previewed or updated the spacing I have carefully inserted to achieve my layout is removed. Is there a way of holding position of the various elements ?

Any help on this issue would be very much appreciated.

  • Perhaps you can find some clarification here:

As much as the editor allows you to the edit the content, the presentation of that content is controlled by the theme’s css.

Learning how to edit the theme’s CSS will allow you to control the padding, the fonts and the layout of each post.

Thank you for your reply and for the link. There is clearly much for me to learn but at least you have pointed me in the right direction and I thank you for that.
