Holds entries hostage
-
Alright, so as a form plugin, this might be suitable. But in the light version, there are some bad business practices that need to be addressed. I tried using with a clients project where the destination email was a bit complicated. This plugin recommends SMTP setup which for some cases may be needed but most of those services require additional payment which is too much for a basic contact form system.
That is not really the issue, though it did cause some headaches in itself.
My issue stems from the fact that this plugin will send form entries to some unknown cloud service provider as “backup” instead of a database entry as one would expect to be accessed in the event email delivery fails.
So not only is potentially sensitive data being sent to an unknown storage system, they require purchasing of the pro version in order to see those entries. They are essentially holding data hostage if you cannot get the email delivery to work. If you want an alternative with better pro options and the option to view entries from the WordPress Admin, check out Formidable forms, or probably any of the other available options. (haven’t tested them all)
