I did not touch the url of any page. When I updated a different page, a sub page had turned into the home (front) page.

On the menu it’s still in the correct position, but the permalink has changed to the front page, and I can’t change it back.

Please help, as I’ve no idea how this could happen.

I already had the front page set up, it’s been working for 7 months.

This front page has changed to a sub page link, which I didn’t touch in any way.

We have no way of knowing what might have happened. You mentioned that you updated a new page but exactly what was done? I would look at that and see if anything might have done that. You may also want to scan your site to see if any malicious code might be there using something like this: https://sucuri.net/

Other than that, I would reset it and then see if you see this again in the future.

I edited a different existing page, exactly as I’ve done before. I didn’t touch the links of any page.

The new front page is in exactly the same position on the menu, as a sub page, but the link has changed to the home / front page url.

Thanks for the link, nothing found.

Please can you tell me how to reset it?

If you are talking about how to reset the home page, I’ve already given you the link above.

The link was for malicious code. I don’t see how to reset the home page, which is what I need to do.

Did you look at both links that I provided?

Thanks for the reminder – as I said, I’d assigned the front page 7 months ago, and now I can’t change the permalink that has somehow changed on the wrong sub page.

The original static front page is named home, which shows up as .com/home/ not just .com

Kindly set the home page as static home page.

That was impossible as I’ve explained.

I’ve now started again by deleting the sub page that changed to the static front page.

    Thanks for your help.
