My website address had stopped pointing to/opening my static “home” page. The “home” page exist in the page menu & is “published”. I cannot find a way to “reinstate” or “restore” the “home” page to open first when accessing our website address. I did not build this site, I had to take over maintenance recently.
I’m new to WordPress, so I’m sure it’s probably a simple matter to those of you that have been doing it a while…any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • Hi Jack,

Have you tried these steps yet?

This might do the trick, but really depends on how the theme was built, but I would definitely try this first. Hope this helps.

Will… thank you for the link… I’ll see what I can figure out; the page is already created & labeled “home” page in the pages menu… want to have it open as the static front page. Think I may need to find where the “Assign the Front Page” option is located… again, thank you for your direction… have a great week!

Well… it was a simple fix that could have happened much sooner had I known the problem fix had to be dealt with in our Theme templates… not in the general dashboard… thanks!
