• In edit the home page is fine. But when I view the page or go to the site via internet is does not display. All other pages are fine.

I have never had this problem. I just upgraded to 3.2.1 and I do nto know if this is related. Initially I did not change anything from the prior page except to update and save text update.

    Help please.

  • Sadly, nothing to add except I’m having the same problem Well, there is one thing – I just made another new page and now THAT is my home page. (Obviously, I’m don’t want that one to be the home page, either) Hope we can figure this out!

I am able to add another new page, copy the same text and call it “Home” and it will display fine, but then there are 2 ‘HOME’ pages in the page menu bar. This cannot be the solution. There is some unique code relating to the Static Home page identified in the settings.

Is this a glitch from the upgrade?

If so, how do you “downgrade”, as I never had any problem before!

Actually I just want a fix.

I am serious about deleting the upgrade and going back to 3.2 or wherever I was.

I had another problem inserting a photo into a post. I thought just a slow connection, but now I am certain it is related to the upgrade as that problem is not present on the other WP web sites I manage that I have not yet (and will not) upgrade until these problems are fixed.

Please someone tell me how to return to the prior version of WP?

I just – I think – found the solution to my problem. Well, there is another problem yet to fix, but I can see my homepage!

In setting – reading, do you have the same front page displays? Check it out, I had the same and I made the them different and now I can see my old home page!

As to going back to the older version… Hmm… I know WP saves our older versions of pages. Who is your webhost? Can you call and ask to back in your logs and reactivate an older version of WP?

Good luck, I know how frustrating this is. I am far from a technical person but I wanted to at least give you the info I found. Oh, and someone else posted that idea, it was kiwi something or other. I didn’t come up wtih it on my own. ??

I am having a problem seeing any home page (index.php). Before downloading the site to a local server, I connected FTP via Dreamweaver.

I changed the index.php page to index_save.php and replaced it with an index.html, which displayed just fine. However, when I changed the name of index.html to index_save.html and returned index_save.php to index.php, I am having all sorts of problems.

I did not touch any configuration pages, database connections, etc. Please advise.

    Thank you in advance.

    Sincerely,

    Wynne

Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

I downloaded the full site to my local server, and after examining the wp-config file, the database and id no longer matched?? Someone else had changed the database and admin account without realizing its affects on WP. (oops!)

    I appreciate your suggestions, esmi.

    Thank you,

    Wynne
