Home Page Font Color

My home page font color is a very light gray.

On the home page the “post summary excerpt” is a very light gray and I can’t change it to any color because there is no option that I can find for it in the theme customization.

This CSS works:
.entry { color: black; }
* { color: black; }

However, it turns everything on the screen black including my footer text. I just want my post summary excerpt to be black (#000000) and not gray.

Please help.
