Home page image and blog

1. How can I change the image on the home page (themes/responsive/images/featured-image.png) to a flash video that I uploaded?

2. How can I use this theme as a traditional website but have a blog as well with a menu link where the most recent post on the blog is displayed in one of the three widget boxes on the home page?
