I initially built a tiny site in French and English by creating separate matching pages in both languages. As I want to add a forum, I was recommended to install Polylang and Polylang for Elementor (since that is what I am using). It seems to work fine when I use the slugs /home/ and /home-fr/ but if you visit the main home page of https://lettersfromthenorthpole.com it does seem to put all the pages from the site, one after the other on a SINGLE page, which is obviously problematic.

Since I already had a French copy of the “home page”, is there a way I can just use that in Polylang, somehow?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I am not sure what I did, but this has been solved. However, I have another situation that came up.

If I try to load the home page (https://lettersfromthenorthpole.com), it loads the English version. That is fine as it is the one I assigned by default. The problem is that if I want to load the French version, it takes forever and then I get a message:

    This page isn’t working
lettersfromthenorthpole.com redirected you too many times.

    ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

I am not sure where the “too many redirects” come from, but I suspect it might be some kind of infinite loop in redirect? But I don’t know where to look.

Anyone able to help me out?

    Hello @cassel

I think I saw your post on Facebook?

    Have you resolved this issue?

Please make sure there are no pages in the trash.

Usually what happens is, when we trash a translated item, the page is still linked to the original language page. But because it’s in the trash, it will want to redirect you as you are not allowed to view that page on the front end.

Yes, I ended up deleting the French page completely and redoing it. Not sure what I had done to cause that. Probably a mistake on my end, but I am not sure.

    But yes, it is solved.
