Home Page is Frozen

    This website is established. Today the home page froze on desktop and mobile on all browsers. All other pages are fine, and when in troubleshooting mode scroll works, but otherwise it does not. Again, this issue is just on the home page. All other pages are fine.

    I have
    – deleted website and browser cache
    – done a plugin conflict test
    – changed theme to twenty-twenty-four
    – re-saved permalinks
    – reinstalled WordPress 6.6.2
    – removed sliders
    – copied the home page to a new page, which works fine until I put it to be the home page
    – changed home page to be a different page on the website. It is frozen when in home page but OK when anywhere else.
    – site health status shows good
    – wp-config.php debug shows nothing

    I have no idea what to try next. Would appreciate your help.

    If it works in Troubleshooting mode, re-activate each plugin one by one, and then your theme, to identify the source of the problem.

    Dear James, my first reaction was to say that a plugin conflict test was the first thing I tried, however I decided to do it again, not in troubleshooting mode but live, as I had originally done.

    I deactivated all the plugins, a few at a time, checking to see if it made any difference, and then the last set that I deactivated, scrolling worked. So I proceeded to activate all of the others first, checking each time to make sure scrolling was working, and I finally came to the last set that I deactivated that started the scrolling to work again, and I activated each one, one at a time to see which one was the culprit, and for some reason, they are all activated again but the scrolling is working, so I’m not sure what happened, but it’s working and so I am extremely grateful! Thank you. I have been working on this for several hours and you fixed it! THANK YOU!!!!

    Hm, based on that, if you have a caching plugin, that could be the problem.

    If you do, try clearing the cache the next time the problem comes back. If that works, contact that plugin’s support.

    Oh yes, I use WP-Rocket caching plugin and it is often the cause of problems so one of the first things I check, but thank you again.

    Buongiorno, sono mesi che non entravo nel mio sito, quindi non so quando sia successo, ma il sito e bloccato alla pagina iniziale, come vado su menu a cliccare un argomento mi da errore critico, vedi di più riguardo alla risoluzione dei problemi in wordpress. Penso che derivi dagli aggiornamenti automatici, considerando che da Aruba il sito dice funzionante.
