  • “communities” is the menu item so you can change it from Appearance->Menu.

But “featured homes” seems to be an item in content area so you have to edit the content

Hi Fukr. Thanks for responding. I went to my admin, appearance. What am I looking for to find communities? Sorry, I’m very 101 at this.

Featured Homes is a widget, and it has no link surrounding the image, like the other 2 next to it do.

I’m so confused. Can someone please give me step by step instructions on first how to fix my “communities” link on my homepage. I need to add contents but I don’t know where or how to from my admin menu. Thanks for your patience. https://www.rosalindbooker.com

I see no one has jumped in, lol. It’s all in the documentation if you search “menus”, but I try to esplane it to yew.

In the dashboard under Appearance, you’ll find Menus. Your main navigation should be the only one there (in the rightmost section).

Find “Communities” and open it by clicking the grey arrow on the right of it, and click Remove.
On the left, it has “Pages”, then “Links”, then “Categories”. If your site has a page named Communities, then open the Page one, check Communities and click “Add to Menu”.
If you want the link to point to some other location (like Property Search does), instead you would open “Links” and type or paste in the full web address, type “Communities” where it says “Link Text”, then click “Add to Menu”.
Then click the blue “Save Menu” button.

Then fly to Laconia, NH and cook my breakfast. ??

    Defosses Nate, thanks for responding!
OK, under my “appearance” tab I see “themes” “widgets” “editor” in that order. When I click on “appearance” four themes pop up to my right: Prophoto (says active), twenty fourteen, twenty thirteen, twenty twelve. Now, what do I do next?

“In the dashboard under Appearance, you’ll find Menus.”
Click on Appearance, a sub-list will appear under it.
“Menus” should be in the list there. If not, I have no idea what’s up, then.

Do you have full admin privileges on the site? Find out by clicking on “Users” and look at your profile.

Defosses Nate. My “Appearance” tab is along the left margin only which is black with white letter. When I click on “Dashboard” I do not see “Appearance” on my dashboard. I am using version 3.9.1

When I click on “Appearance” three sub titles appear: 1. Themes 2. Widgets 3. Editor. When I actually click on “Appearance” I see four icons that appear to my right, 1. Prophoto (which is highlighted as active), 2. twenty fourteen 3. twenty thirteen 4. twenty twelve.

I clicked on users and my name is the only one listed as “Administrator.” Does this mean I have full access?

Thanks for you help! You’re the best!

Hmmm…. temporarily change the theme to Twenty Fourteen, then see if it’s there. If it is, that means your theme doesn’t support automatic menus and you’ll have to edit the HTML, which is pretty advanced and easy for a beginner to mess up. Or I can fix it if you want to hire me, I’m cheap, don’t worry ??

Also, if it doesn’t show, switch back to your theme, then go to the Plugins section and disable every plugin, then look. If it shows up, enable each plug in one at a time, looking to see if the Menu link disappears after each one is disabled. When/if it does, the last one you activated is the problem.

OK, I had SOME success today! I found the “featured homes” widget. So, I went to the media library and upload approx. 5 pics thinking I was going to upload them all to custom image 3, which is my widget icon “featured homes” BUT it kept repeating another icon “Simply Roz” SO now, I need to know how to make a photo slider and get a url to point to it to attach it to my widget. Thanks!

Unfortunately, I’ve been reminded by the mods that we aren’t allowed to help out with commercial themes (themes that costs any $$$).
You’ll have to contact the site’s designer https://lillyzach.com/ or the theme’s designer https://www.themepunch.com/home/
