I’ve read a lot of support posts, but I’m having problems with my home page in Responsive them look right. It’s at: https://daviesuu.org/:

    • I have the blog date, author, and comment as if it was a blog page, but none of the other pages do that – only the home page
    • I created a child theme which contains a style.css with the code just exactly as codex says to do – I’ve double check spelling, but on the Themes page, I get “The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.” It also says I have a Description theme, but I don’t.
    • I have a white background for the content area which looks good in my Firefox, but on my iPod it looks transparent showing the background image behind the text, whereas the other pages show with the white background

Additionally, I would like these features and don’t know how to do it:

    • Can I put the search in the menu?
    • Can I create a menu that shows up over the top of the banner on the right side that is short for just a few important links?
    • How do I change the color of the menu bar to black? I tried `.menu {background-color: #000000;
}` in the Custom CSS Styles but it didn’t work.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The benefit of www.ads-software.com is that people can search the support here and have all the info in one place. If I have to go to themeid, I guess I’m left with no choice.

I do appreciate the very nice responsive theme and would like to rate it here if I get good support and answers to questions. It’s too bad people here won’t be able to see them.

You are more than welcome to post here – and Emil does check these forums – however, the best information and support is on his forums – per

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/please-read-before-posting-a-question?replies=1

That’s the centralized, searchable resource for that particular theme – it’s actually a big plus for Responsive users to have that kind of free support. A few other themes have similar dedicated forums.

I have posted there now. I put in a 2nd discussion question under “Suggestions / Feedback” about the search there – it doesn’t work anywhere near as well as it does here. I can’t find answers to my questions there using the search function and browsing is too time-consuming for me right now.

Maybe someone has a suggestion for a better search engine for his site?

BTW, thanks for trying to help.

    Hi JoyceD6,

First I would like to say thanks for using Responsive, this means a lot to us and also for understanding how and where we like to help. ThemeID is the place where everything is gathered on one place since the Theme was released. If details are not available one can always post new questions and one of us will answer it shortly ??

    Thanks,
    Emil
