Solve one problem – on to the next . . .
I created a home page as a static page and ended up with two home pages. Helpful advice from ‘alchmyth’ explained how to resolve that (by clicking on a check box under Dashboard/ Weaver Options/ Main options/ Header options: to chek ‘No Home menu item’)

This removed the second home page but now when I go to the site the message displayed on the screen is:

    Not Found
Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.

Clicking on the home tab takes me to the home page I have created, but not brilliant to have the ‘not found’ message as the first thing people going to the site will see.

Any ideas how to resolve this ?

    thanks

The url to the site I’m putting together is https://www.loubes-bernac-cottage.com

Have you tried updating the home page from the settings tab? Settings>Reading> then pick Front page displays: static page, then pick the home page you want… I’d try that

    Perfect.
Thanks very much – that sorted it in no time.

    No problem.

I, too, had this same problem with a site that opens to the dreaded message:
“Not Found: Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found.”

I followed Sarah’s advice and updated home page at Settings>Reading> then pick Front page displays: static page, then pick the home page you want.

That solved the log-on problem nicely. My site opened correctly on home page.

But now there’s a new problem:

The site’s home page is “found” when site first opens, but after moving to another page and returning to “home”, it’s now lost. Again.

Any advice would be most appreciated. Site’s URL = https://www.redshoedesign.net
