Home Page not working

So I am working on a website and the person who was editing last wasn’t using WordPress, so after I started working on the website for them I installed WordPress through their go-daddy account. I installed the theme, plugins and even created the pages, setting a static front page and a blog post page but every time I edit and publish the first page it takes me to the same old 90’s looking homepage that he had before. I looked through the file manager folder in go daddy and wiped everything and started again from scratch but I keep running into the same problem. If somebody could tell me what I need to find to fix this I would be forever grateful.
