I have encountered a curious issue: When upgrading the theme to anything above version 1.6.1 I lose my customized home page options.

Upon upgrade the theme replaces my custom home page with the “posts” page, even though the custom home page options still appear in the customizer.

After updating I tried re-saving the theme options, re-saving permalinks, etc., and the issue remains.

I see in the changelog that in version 1.6.2 the home.php file was removed, and that it had just been added (to replace front-page.php) in 1.6. Not sure if this is the issue, but the timing is suspect.

Any idea what is causing this?

    Hi Eric,

You may need to create a new page, and apply the Home Page template within the Page Attributes section. Publish the new page.

Next, navigate to Settings > Reading within the admin. In the “Front page displays” section, select “A static page” and set your newly created home page as the front page.

    That should do the trick!

Thank you, I appreciate the follow-up. Your advice did solve the issue.

Upgrading to 1.6.8 also created a new issue with the menu going from right-aligned to left-aligned, and in the process it slides under the site logo.

In viewing the changelog this occurred as of 1.6.5 with the “flexbox” addition. I cannot find anything in the documentation to help me with this issue.

Any idea how to fix this one?

    Hi Eric,

Can you provide a link to your site?

What browser are viewing the site in?

    Thanks!

Sorry David, I did not see your post until now. I am happy to report that the issue has been solved as of an update to the latest version (1.6.11).

The site is being built locally on my PC until it is ready to launch so I can’t provide a link at this time. It was being viewed in Chrome and Firefox when this issue occurred. I did not test it in IE, Edge, Safari, etc.

Thanks for responding and for creating/supporting this theme!
