Home page points to “SVORN”??

  • I can into my WordPress dashboard, no problem. I can edit each of my pages, no problem. But, every time I call the pages up in a web browser all I get is this…

    check your list of plugins.
    do you have one for related posts?
    can you deactivate the plugin in your dashboard?

    You’re also getting a “500” error that prevents your site from loading properly.

    Disable that plugin. If you can login, disable it from the plugins page. If not, use FTP to access your site, navigate to wp-content/plugins, and rename the directory wordpress-23-related-posts-plugin to wordpress-23-related-posts-plugin-disable

    I think that helped. Thank you. Now, I’m getting this error message instead…The theme directory “twentyfourteen” does not exist.

    Even though the dashboard says “WordPress 4.6.1 running QuickPress theme”.

    Actually, I think I’m going to just cancel everything and start over fresh with a new domain, new hosting, and a web site from someone different. So far nobody has been able to really help me.

    I hadn’t been to my site in a couple of months. But, after I found out my original hosting company…www.cheapmicronichesites…went belly up, I checked out my site and got my original problem. I then transferred my hosting to namecheap.com. They at least got me able to get back into my WordPress dashboard. Now, this new problem. Apparently, I keep making it worse. It’s just not worth the time or the effort. The site was just meant to be a casual, have fun, lets see if I can do it, kind of site. Apparently, that’s not the case.

    Cheap is not the best qualification for a hosting company. https://www.ads-software.com/hosting/ is the “official” recommended list. You might take a look at some of theme.

    Hi. Thanks for following up and checking on my site. My current hosting company namecheap.com had it fixed in about 15 minutes. They did tell me what they fixed, but with my limited knowledge, it was like they were talking a foreign language, lol. Part of the problem did have to do with a plug-in, though, I believe. And, I think part of the problem was something I did. Hey?!?! The site wasn’t working anyway, right?? LOL. Kudos go out to Maria from namecheap.com. Thanks to you, too, Steve.
