• When I switch from the default language (italian) to the english one I always end up with a non existing page which is /en while it should be /en/home-en. I tried to do a 301 redirect from /en to /en/home-en but I got a problem with multiple redirects.
Is there a way to tell Polylang which is the home page for each language?
Alternatively can I delete /en page so that I can rename /en/home-en in /en ?

May be you have a tip:

  • I’m trying to solve a very similar problem. I’ve got Cornish (kw) as default, English (en) as the second. My permalinks are set to “/postname”. Switching the front page from Cornish to English works fine – but after a while it breaks, switching to the English front page goes to a “Parent directory of /en” page. On looking via ftp, it seems that some process is creating an empty /en folder in the /public_html folder, and it’s doing this at around the same time daily (15.10) which I assume causes the problem. I can delete the /en folder, but it’ll just reappear the next day and break the English homepage again.
I can solve it by changing permalinks to “plain” (eg /?p=123), but I really want to have it set to /postname
In my support forum post (link below), someone asked if the host “uses some cache”, but I’ve no idea what that means.
I’m adding this to your question, in case it is helpful.

Mmmmh.. Very strange! I have checked but this doesn’t occur in my case.
However I can’t see any relationship between the presence of a folder /en in the public_html folder and the break of the English homepage.
Anyway thank you for having shared your problem that has some similarity with mine.
